Obituary for James Arnold Quinn

James Arnold  Quinn
Athens - Graveside services for James Arnold “Sonny Boy” Quinn, 82 of Athens, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Athens Cemetery in Athens, Texas. Visitation will be from 10 am - 12 Noon, Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.



Sonny Boy went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 16, 2011. He was born September 28, 1928 in Murchison, Texas to Mark & Floramae Smith Quinn. Sonny lived most of his life in Athens.



He was a Baptist by faith, a veteran of the US Army, and a member of the VFW Post 7103 in Athens. Sonny was a mechanic and worked many years at Dugan’s Service Station and Clivers Garage. He enjoyed playing dominos, riding around on his golf cart and mower. Sonny loved his grandkids, great-grandkids and being with friends and family at J-L Wrecker.



Sonny was preceded in death by sons, Ricky Quinn and Jimmy Quinn.



He is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Linda Miley of Athens, Kay and Joe Holt of Athens; son, Jeff Quinn of Athens; brother Jack Quinn of Rusk; grandkids: Jason and Lauren Roberts, Amie Roberts, Michele and Danny Richardson, Nicole & Benny Tripp, Arley Quinn; and six great-grandkids.



Pallbearers will be the employees of JL Wrecker Service.
