Jesse Edwin "Ed"  Nusko
Athens - Funeral services for Jesse Edwin “Ed” Nusko, 80, of Athens, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Chapel of Athens with Bro. Jim Duncan and Bro. Rick Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Memorial Park.

Jesse passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in Athens, Texas.

He was born June 17, 1931 in Rusk County to Jesse and Lessie Parrish Nusko. Ed served in the U. S. Navy. He moved from Longview to Athens in 1964. Ed was a banker in the Athens area including the First National Bank from 1958 to present. He was a member of the Athens Amateur Radio Club, the Texas Baptist Men’s Association, and loved traveling and meeting people, especially through the radio.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Sherry Souter Nusko of Athens; daughter and son-in-law, Kathi and Randy Brown of Murchison; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Sondra Nusko of Ben Wheeler; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Andy Whitaker of Southaven, Miss., Mary and Clyde McGlothin of Georgetown, Tx.; five grandchildren, Kara Gillit, Korey Brown, Autumn Nusko, Jordan Nusko, Keeley Craze; and four great grandchildren, Kayden Gillit, Kamryn Gillit, Korbyn Brown and Brayden Nusko.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m., Friday, January 27, 2012 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be John Clayton, John Becton, Bill Bassett, Bobby Jones, Ron Day, and Kenneth Fulton.
