Phyllis Ann  Ferrell
Palestine – Funeral services for Phyllis Ann Ferrell, 85, of Palestine are scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2013 at Carroll Springs United Methodist Church with Steve Newcomb officiating. Burial will follow at Post Oak Cemetery at Cross Roads, Texas.
She passed away Wednesday April 17, 2013 in Athens, Texas.
Phyllis was born November 20, 1927 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Daniel Victor Crippen and Anna McCraight Crippen. She married William Ferrell in 1962 and graduated from North East Louisiana University in Monroe, LA. She retired after 20 years of teaching school. She was a member of Carroll Springs United Methodist Church and loved playing the piano, watching TV, making crafts and playing on the computer.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Ferrell in 1992; parents; children: Charles Edward Nutt, Bonnie Sue Nutt, Billy Nutt; brother Dan Crippen.
Phyllis is survived by daughters Denise Rockett and husband Norman of Palestine, Shannon Netherland and husband Noel of Wiggins, MS; son Brian Ferrell of Delhi, LA; sister Joanne Runions of Epps, LA; brothers Victor Crippen of Ann Arbor, MI and Paul Crippen of New Boston, MI; seven grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Cook, Dean Nuckolls, Norman Rockett, Jordan Rockett, Noel Netherland, and Shane Cook.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening, April 18, 2013 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens.
