Lynda Sue  Espy
Athens –Memorial services for Lynda Espy, 71, of Athens, Texas are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church in Athens with Pastor Paul Sherwood officiating.

Mrs. Espy passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015 in Tyler, Texas.

Lynda Sue Taylor Espy was born February 16, 1943 in Holdenville, Oklahoma the daughter of Lyndall H. Taylor and Rachel Stiffler Taylor. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Athens and taught Sunday school in several of the communities her family lived in. She received her Bachelors in Education and enjoyed a long career in teaching before eventually retiring from TVCC. She enjoyed entertaining friends and family, cooking, gardening and sewing. Mama Jama loved her family and will be greatly missed by all she knew and loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her loving husband Gary Espy of Athens; one daughter Bethany Ann Kiernan and husband Matt of Des Moines, Iowa; one sister Patricia Ann Johnson and husband Dwaine of Quinlan and two grandchildren, Livy and Ella Kiernan.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.
