Malakoff –Funeral services for Donald Nunn, 72, of Malakoff, Texas, are scheduled for 3:00 P.M., Monday, May 11, 2015, at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Athens with Bro. Gene Bishop and Rev. Glen Taylor officiating.

Mr. Nunn passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015 in Malakoff, Texas after a short battle with cancer.

Donald Earl Nunn was born January 10, 1943 in Kinston, North Carolina. He joined the United States Navy after high school serving on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt, was a proud member of the All Navy softball team and was later honorably discharged for his service to his country. He loved watching and playing sports of all kinds including Cowboys football and Rangers baseball. But his true love was NASCAR, his beloved Dale Earnhardt Sr., and his compulsive golf habit. He was a member of the Shady Oaks Baptist Church in Athens, was a loving husband, father, a wonderful grandfather and PawPaw who will be greatly missed by all he knew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents and his first wife Jackie Nunn.

He is survived by his loving wife Lila Berry-Nunn of Malakoff; one daughter Donna Price and husband Malcolm of Prairieville; three grandchildren, Cheyenne and Dakota Price, Krysten Graham and one great grandson and the joy of his life Waylon Graham.

Pallbearers will be Mike Collins, Ron Wood, Ronnie Lightfoot, Steven Ward, Jerry Carrell, Russell Sandifer and Robert Lane.

Visitation will be held from 3-5:00 P.M., Sunday, May 10, 2015, at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens.
