Obituary for James Edward Leopard
Athens – Graveside Services for James Leopard, 76, of Athens are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at the Malakoff Cemetery in Malakoff, Texas with Bro. Gene Bishop officiating.
Mr. Leopard passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015 in Tyler, Texas.
James Edward Leopard was born April 14, 1939 in Athens, Texas the son of Robert Frances Leopard and Truda Mae Speed Leopard. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, hunting, fishing and four wheeling. His love was playing poker, dominoes and especially his family. Pa was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, cousin and friend and will be greatly missed by all those he knew.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Mickey Leopard.
He is survived by his daughters, Jamie Rene Leonard of Athens, Christy Thurston and Husband Ronnie of Athens; brother Glenn Roy Leopard and wife Denise of Malakoff; three grandchildren, Dustin Leopard and wife Jo, Paige Hilton and husband Luke, Brandon Leopard and girlfriend Stacy Turner; two great grandchildren, David James Leopard and Nova ‘Ann Laverne Leopard; cousin and best friend Berry Allen Jr. and friends Rose Lewing and Vickie Bounds.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Stevie Cowan, Steve Andrews, Seth Thurston, Deryl Eves, Luke Hilton, Jamie Phillips, Robert Decco and Blake Carter.
Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens, Texas.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.
