Funeral Services for William “Shorty” Holcomb, 75, of Bradford are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with interment following at Carroll Springs Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Bro. Glenn Taylor and Bro. Jim Hilton.

Mr. Holcomb went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 7, 2017 in Bradford.
William Glenn Holcomb was born February 26, 1941 in Anderson County, Texas the son of Marshall Pink Holcomb and Addie Mae Palmer Holcomb. He was a member of the Union United Methodist Church, a song leader for over 20 years and spent many years singing with his father and brothers in the Holcomb Quartet. Shorty was President of the Bradford Volunteer Fire Department, President of the Brushy Creek Water Supply, served on the school board of the LaPoynor Independent School District and was a Trustee of the Carroll Springs Cemetery Board. He was a hard worker who loved farming and raising his watermelons. PawPaw was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and will be greatly missed by all he knew and loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

William “Shorty” Holcomb is survived by his loving wife Glenda Holcomb of Bradford; three children, Michael Holcomb and wife Twana of Rosharon, Larry Holcomb of Bradford, Frieda Alsobrook and husband Roland of Martin’s Mill; two brothers, Marvin Holcomb and wife Rose of LaRue, Ronnie Holcomb and wife Linda of Bradford; seven grandchildren, Kristen Holcomb, Brandon Holcomb, Kayla Holcomb, Timothy Holcomb and wife Hailey, Marshall Holcomb, Carlee Womble and husband Travis, Rylie Alsobrook and two great grandchildren, Susanna Mae Womble and Charles Ray Womble.

Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens.

Services were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Family.
