Athens – A Funeral Mass for Marie Greer, 75, of Tennessee Colony, Texas will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Malakoff with Father McLaughlin officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Cayuga.

Marie Ella Greer has joined her God and late husband, Jimmy Louis Greer, in heaven on Friday February 24th at 11:13 A.M., in her home in Tennessee Colony, Texas.

Marie Greer grew up in Cameron, Texas and moved to Austin, Texas to start her career where she meet the love of her life Jimmy Louis Greer. They were married on October 28, 1962. Both moved to start their life in Fort Worth, Texas. Marie worked for Acme Brick and Alcon Labs until she retired 19 years later. In 1999 they bought their ranch in Tennessee Colony, Texas and started raising cattle, chickens and a few donkeys. Gardening both flowers and vegetables was a big hobby that both enjoyed. They both loved going fishing with the bass club and with their girls, but most of all at the pond on the ranch. Jimmy passed away in 2009 but Marie stayed on the ranch running it with help from their closest friends Karl and Lydia Kelley and other ranchers in the area.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents Johnny and Mary Repa Zarosky, her late husband Jimmy L. Greer and her sister Delores Ann Schroeder, who joined her God in December, 2011

Marie is survived by her two daughters Sheila Marie Sibille and her husband Billy of Lafayette, Louisiana, Michaela Nanette Crosson and her husband Gary of Granbury; three grandchildren, Justin James Knowles and wife Jessica, Lindsie Marie Knowles, Allison Kaye Sibille, three great grandchildren, Michael Allen Knowles, Austin Roy Knowles, Jordin William Sibille and three nephews and three nieces in Atlanta, Georgia and Fort Davis, Texas.
Marie remarried October 20, 2012 to Marvin Malone from Austin, Texas with his two sons Mark Malone and his wife Lisa and their two children Briana and Taylor of Flower Mound, Texas. Youngest son Michael Malone of Dallas, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Billy Sibille, Gary Crosson, Justin Knowles, Mark Malone, Michael Malone and Taylor Malone. Honorary Pallbearers Karl Kelley, John Harmon and Gordo Broughton.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made in her memory to the American Cancer Society or to Solaris Hospice of Palestine.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 P.M. and a Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens.
