The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Tommy Barnett can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Hippies & Cowboys

Tommy, aka "yard Dog", myself, David Thedford, and a few other cowboy wanna be red-neck types had a hard time adjusting to the big college (SHSU) ways, coming from TJC & HCJC, but with Tommy's personality and likeablity influencing us all and our peers we all somehow managed to get a degree, although some of us managed to cram a four year degree into 6 years, we were all on the Deans list, just dont ask which list, lots of good times, good memories and good friends, he was a good one!

I visited Dog a few years back while he was having knee surgery at ETMC in Tyler , it was a quiet Sunday pm until Dog and I go to telling old college stories, the nurses had to call for more oxygen, for themselves, we had them laughing so much!

good job Tommy!
