Funeral Services for Thelma Stout, 86, of Athens are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens with Bro. Gene Bishop officiating.

Thelma passed away on May 29, 2017 in Athens.

Thelma Juneau Stout was born July 3, 1930 in Sicily Island, Louisiana the daughter of Jimmy Juneau and Jimmie Ourlia Juneau. She was a member of the West Athens Baptist Church in Athens and spent countless hours raising her family. “Granny” was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking and canning, sewing and gardening. Her professional career was spent in food service, retiring from Winn Dixie after many years.
She will be greatly missed by all she knew and loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Floyd Stout; daughter Elaine Stout Estes and son Jimmy A. Stout.

She is survived by her children, Homer Dale Stout of Athens, Linda Hanks and husband Joe of Bradford, Carla Ellerbe of Athens, Floyd Terry Stout and wife Denna of Mabank; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Hanks, James Hanks, Christopher Stout, Matthew Estes, John O’Neill, James Stout, Jacob Stout, Cameron Stout, Ethan Potter and Seth Potter.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 6-8:00 P.M. at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
