Obituary for James Thomas "Tommy" Chitty
Athens – Memorial services for Tommy Chitty, 59, of Athens will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with Bishop officiating.
Mr. Chitty passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017 in Athens.
James Thomas Chitty was born August 28, 1957 in Athens, Texas the son of James Raymond Chitty and Wanda Brown Chitty Crutchfield. He enjoyed mechanic work and riding motorcycles.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step father Miles Crutchfield; one sister Teresa Crutchfield; two brothers in law, Terry Locke and Fred Crutchfield; one sister in law May Locke Crutchfield; and mother in law Mattie Sue Mullinax.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years Sherri Locke Chitty of Athens; two children Jacob Chitty and wife Tanya of Athens, Courtney Chitty of Athens; several siblings including sisters Sheila Crutchfield of California, Jean Crutchfield of Athens, Jan Nalls and husband Dewayne of Athens; one brother Glen Chitty of Athens; step sisters Geneva Crutchfield, Marilyn Pryor and children; two brothers in law, Garry Locke of Athens, Kerry Locke and wife Barbara of Athens; two grandchildren, Dylan and Aubrey Chitty; nine nephews and nieces, Deke Crutchfield and wife Michelle, Jerry Locke and wife Jen, Daniel Irvin, Joe Irvin and wife Shelley, Kristin Locke, Copper Brasher, Preston Chitty, Gary Lee Turlington, Heather Turlington and six great nephews and nieces, Justin Hargrove, Jeremy Crutchfield, Brook Locke, Jacob Irvin, Jessica Mattox and Colton Bock.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.
