Funeral Services for Arcella Matlock White, 81, of Athens are scheduled for 12:00 P.M. Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens with Pastor Wayne Waller officiating. Interment will follow at Athens Cemetery.

Ms. White passed away on July 26, 2017 in Athens.

Arcella Mae Baker White was born February 26, 1936 in Bonham, Texas the daughter of Clarence Eugene Baker and Lora Mae Nip Baker. She was a longtime member of the First Pentecostal Church of God. She was an avid collector of Angels, Santa’s and cookie jars. Granny enjoyed working in the garden, sewing, ironing and cooking; but her favorite was spending precious time with her kids and grandkids. Arcella was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed by all she knew and loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Orville Lavern Matlock, one son Danny Matlock; one brother Sonny Baker and three sisters, Yvonne, Lois and Marie.

She is survived by her loving children, David Matlock and wife Ethel of Dallas, Billy Matlock and wife Shirley of Athens, Linda Sifford and husband Alan of Athens; daughter in law Mary Ann Matlock of Athens; sister Bonnie Beye of Coffeyville, Kansas and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Barnard, Richard Jones, Breland Jones, Charlie Jones, Derrick Allen, Michael Matlock, Bryan Matlock, Keith Matlock and Eric Matlock. Honorary Pallbearers will be George Quinn and Doug Quinn.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M., Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
