Obituary for Mary Janice Sharkey (Lowery)
Athens –Memorial services for Mary Sharkey, 85, of Trinidad, Texas are scheduled for 5:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Athens.
Ms. Sharkey passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015 in Trinidad, Texas.
Mary Janice Lowery Sharkey was born April 10, 1930 in River Rouge, Michigan the daughter of William Lowery and Effie Henrietta Lowery. She enjoyed working in the yard taking care of her flowers and plants. She spent countless hours sewing and crocheting. Nana was a giving and loving wife, mother and grandmother who truly delighted in taking care of her family. She will be missed by all she touched.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Harold O’Guin, Louis Sharkey; two sons, Robert Harold O’Guin, Kenneth Ray O’Guin and her brother Bill Lowery.
She is survived by her loving children, Linda Hayes and husband Carl of Mt. Zion, Illinois, Roger O’Guin of Bonham, Sharon Phillips of Denton, Kim Shirkey and husband Mark of Chandler, David O’Guin of Trinidad; one sister Gail Skaisgir and husband Joe of Grosse Isle, Michigan; one brother Bobby Bess and wife Paula of Greenville, Michigan; sister in law Susan Lowery of Grosse Isle, Michigan; fifteen grandchildren; thirty seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.
