Funeral services for Betty Costlow of Palestine, are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Bois D’Arc Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Drinkard officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Bradford under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.

Mrs. Costlow went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 in Palestine.

Betty Lou Martin Costlow was born October 15, 1936 in Kemp, Texas the daughter of Davy O. Martin and Willa Mae Hicks Martin. She was a loved and dedicated member of the Bois D’Arc Baptist Church. She loved gardening, her flowers, doing yard work and her pets. She loved her family and would put them before herself every time. She was a loving woman who loved her family and will be missed by all she knew and loved.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son Ronald D. Costlow, and two brothers, Wayne and Edward Martin.

Betty is survived by her husband Bobby Costlow of Bois D’ Arc; three daughters, Suzanne Taylor of Fort Worth, Charlotte Mitchel and husband Dirk of Midland, Brenda Hickman and husband Richard of Bois D’ Arc; two brothers, John Martin and wife Barbara of Arlington, Eddie Martin of Stephenville; sister Edith Yates and husband Charles of Balch Springs, nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 P.M., Monday, February 29, 2016 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens, Texas.

Pallbearers will include Joe Martin, David Martin, Brian Hickman, Carey Costlow, Terry Costlow, and Darien Mitchell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Raymond Gregg and Garland Costlow.

The Costlow family would like to give special thanks to Solaris Hospice for the wonderful care and support they provided these past few months.
