The memorial service for Terry Reagen Bates, 70, of Mabank will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 2:00 PM at First Assembly of God of Eustace with Rev. Mix Williams and Pastor Jonathan Lilley officiating. Services are under the direction of the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Family of Athens.

Mr. Bates went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 13, 2016

Terry Bates was born on October 13, 1945 in Hollis, OK, son of Charlie Hugh Bates and Bessie Hudgeons Bates. He was a 32 Degree Mason and a Past Worshipful Master at the Roddy Lodge # 734 and a member of the Eastern Star Lodge #821. Terry married the love of his life, Susan Pardue on January 7, 1977. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Eustace. Terry was a loving family man and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Maxine Bates, Jewel Henry, Georgia Hadley, Nadine Pruitt, Norma Hankins, and Rita Malin; and brother Harold Bates

He is survived by his wife Susan of Mabank; children, Tari’ Lancaster of Burleson, Scot Bates and wife Jennifer of Houston, Michael Bates and wife Julie of Midlothian, Tim Gundlach and wife Teresa of Grapevine, and Terry (Reagen) Bates II and wife Elizabeth of Fort Worth; brothers, Melvin Bates and Chuck Bates and wife Linda; sisters, Virginia Williams, Veneta Aaron, and Dianne Tatom and husband Glenn; and 12 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to be sent to First Assembly of God, PO Box 117, Eustace, TX 75124.
