The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Jim Day can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Last Day On the Job

Jim was a fellow instructor like I was for Oncor Electric. Our students were new hire and senior lineman for the company. The week after Jim retired, I had some students in my class that had just had Jim's class the week before. They told me a little story about the last class Jim taught. They said Friday on test day, while taking the test, Jim took some papers out of his brief case and laid them on top. He told the class he had to step out for a minute. One of the guys could not resist and took a peek. It turned out to be the key sheet to their test. Everybody started correcting their answers, erasing and changing as fast as they could.  Jim came back to the classroom, and with a stern look on his face, said, "OH! I laid out the wrong key sheet!" Needless to say, Jim got the last laugh!
