Athens –Mary Farmer, 91, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017 at her home in Athens.

Mary Longshore Farmer was born April 10, 1926 in Canton, New York the daughter of Merton Longshore and Hazel Johnson Longshore. She was raised in the United Methodist Church and was an RN in Public Schools before she became a homemaker. She loved the outdoors; spending the summers in Estes Park, Colorado, training and teaching horseback riding at her ranch in Kerrville and was a devoted tennis player. She was a devoted and loving wife who will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her twin sister Margaret Forsythe two years ago; her parents and one son Robert Eric Farmer.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years Robert Eugene Farmer of Athens and one step-sister Carol Longshore of El Cajon, California.
